Any thoughts about why my watch chain might be turning brown at the base?

Can anyone inform me on whats going on here? I have had him for al lest 4 to six months and its never been like this. i just moved but i dont think thats why. i also checked its stem and roots for rot but there is non. just the leaves turning black brown and drying up and dying..please help! its my favorit one.

almost all of these type of succulents are have have this weird brown marking on them. should I just take the leaves a propagate them to get better looking ones?

Help! The leaves on my moonstone keeps dropping by itself, and I don't know what's causing it. I did notice the stem turning dry and brown, don't know if it's related. Last time I watered was about 5 days ago.
